Mr. Chiranjeebi Upadhyaya

Chairman

Mr. Upadhyaya is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He is also a holder of MBS, MPA, and LLM degrees from Tribhuvan University, Nepal.

Mr. Upadhyaya is highly experienced in the areas of finance, law, and corporate governance in Nepal. He started his professional journey as a Senior Auditor at T.R. Upadhya & Company, one of Nepal’s most reputed CA firms, renowned for its affiliation with global accounting giant KPMG. During his tenure, he gained extensive experience in auditing, compliance, and financial management across diverse industries. He joined Standard Chartered Bank Nepal in the year 2010 and served as the Head of Legal & Compliance for the Retail Banking division. Over a span of 12 years, he played a pivotal role in strengthening the bank’s compliance framework, regulatory adherence, and risk management strategies, earning recognition as a trusted expert in banking compliance.

Mr. Upadhyaya transitioned into full-time Law practice as the Managing Director of the Institute of Law & Economics Pvt. Ltd., where he successfully bridged the gap between legal consultancy and economic research, helping organizations navigate complex corporate and economic regulations.

Currently, Mr. Upadhyaya is associated with J & M Legal Research Pvt. Ltd., a reputed law firm in Nepal specializing in corporate legal services. As a co-founder of the firm, he focuses on corporate law, regulatory compliance, and legal research, advising a wide range of clients on strategic and operational legal matters.

With his exceptional academic background and diverse professional experience, Mr. Upadhyaya is a sought-after advisor for corporations and institutions seeking expert guidance in navigating today’s complex legal and regulatory landscape.

Mr. Virat Rana

Director

Mr. Virat holds a Post Graduate Programme in Management from the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad. With over 15 years of multifaceted experience, he has a strong foundation in finance, consultancy, and strategic management. He started as a Financial Expert in a renewable energy project where he designed financial frameworks and trained banking professionals, contributing to sustainable financing models. His consulting tenure includes positions at Grant Thornton and KPMG Global Services, where he advised on mergers, acquisitions, and corporate finance strategy. Since 2014, he has served as Managing Director of Babar Mahal Villas, overseeing all operational and strategic aspects. His entrepreneurial leadership and deep financial insight bring valuable direction to the board.

Mrs. Bandana Thapa

Director

Mrs. Thapa brings over 30 years of experience in the banking sector, having served at Nepal Investment Mega Bank Ltd. from 1992 to 2022. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and Economics from Tribhuvan University. Her career is distinguished by service in multiple core banking functions, including the Forex Treasury Department and branch management at Battisputali Branch. She retired as a Senior Manager and was entrusted with the role of Chief Compliance Officer from 2014 to 2022. In this role, she ensured regulatory compliance and risk mitigation across the bank’s operations. Her long-standing expertise in compliance, treasury, and operational management makes her a valuable contributor to the board’s oversight responsibilities.

Mr. Bibhu Shrestha

Director

Mr. Shrestha holds an MBA from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management and has more than 16 years of experience at Nepal Investment Mega Bank Ltd. He began his banking journey in the Corporate Banking Division and progressed through key leadership positions, including Branch Manager of multiple high-profile branches and Province Manager for Gandaki Province. His expertise lies in corporate lending, branch operations, and regional banking strategy. His final roles included managing key branches such as Putalisadak and Pulchowk, where he led growth initiatives and ensured service excellence. Mr. Shrestha’s deep operational knowledge and leadership across banking tiers equip him to offer strategic and practical insights to the board.

Mr. Mekh Bahadur Thapa Thada

Director

Mr. Thapa holds an MBA from International American University and is a Chartered Accountant accredited by both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal and India. He is a seasoned finance and capital markets professional with approximately 19 years of experience across banking, capital markets, investment banking, auditing and securities regulation including four years of auditing in India and Nepal with Articleship and membership in the International Financial Reporting Draft Committee for Nepal. He served five years at the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) as Deputy Director (now re-designated as “Director”), also held key positions as Chief of Financial Information Analysis Department, Chief of International Affairs and Member of Procurement Unit. Mr. Thapa also served as Chief Operating Officer and Company Secretary at Siddhartha Capital Limited for four years, and as General Manager/Deputy CEO at NIMB Ace Capital Limited for nine years, and is currently Deputy Chief Risk Officer (AGM) at Nepal Investment Mega Bank Limited (NIMB).

CA. Sandeep Kumar Dahal

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Mr. Dahal is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He is also a holder of B.COM (Accounts & Finance) from IGNOU, India.

Mr. Dahal brings a wealth of experience in the areas of Banking, Finance, Risk Management, Compliance, Audit, Strategic Planning & Taxation. With over 13 years of experience spanning over above-mentioned fields, Mr. Dahal previously served as a Chief Financial Officer for Muktinath Bikas Bank & Jyoti Bikas Bank. Prior to that he served in the Internal Audit Department for Global IME Bank. Furthermore, he is a trained professional in Information System Audits, Risk Based Internal Audits and Investigation assignments from within and outside the country. He also has an experience of serving as a faculty member in different institutions related to Chartered Accounting courses.

With his exceptional academic background and profound professional experience, Mr. Dahal is able to convert challenges into opportunities, and he brings trust and confidence with him in the role of Chief Executive Officer of NIMB Stock Markets.

Mr. Sagar Prasad Sapkota

Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Mr. Sagar Prasad Sapkota is a seasoned banking professional currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at N.I.M.B Stock Markets Ltd. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Studies from Shanker Dev Campus, Kathmandu. With over 17 years of experience in Nepal’s financial sector, he has held key roles in operations, risk management, general services, and credit surveillance at renowned banks. Known for his strategic approach, effective leadership, and strong interpersonal skills, Mr. Sapkota has consistently demonstrated excellence in accounts and administrative sector.

Mr. Rakesh Kumar Yadav

Trading and Compliance Officer

Mr. Rakesh Kumar Yadav is the Trading and Compliance Officer at N.I.M.B. Stock Markets Ltd., overseeing the Trading and Settlement Department. With over two years at N.I.M.B., he manages trading operations, ensures timely settlements, and enforces regulatory compliance. Previously, he served as an Account Officer at Hina Construction from 2020 to 2022, handling financial reporting and compliance. He holds an MBA in Finance from Pokhara University. Mr. Yadav is recognized for his problem-solving skills and commitment to operational excellence.
